The Minister of Foreign Affairs meets the US Deputy Secretary of State for Political Affairs

His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad, Mr. Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, met yesterday, Friday in New York, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, Her Excellency Victoria Nuland, US Deputy Secretary of State for Political Affairs. During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the distinguished relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries and ways to enhance them to serve the common interests of the two friendly peoples. They also discussed international and regional issues of common interest. The US diplomacy praised the tangible efforts made by Mauritania in the past two years in order to overcome marginalization and achieve social justice. The meeting was attended by HE Mr. Sidi Ould Mohamed El-Aghdaf, our country’s ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations.
