President of the Republic Chairs Fourth Ordinary Summit Great Green Wall Initiative

His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, chaired Thursday via video conference the works of the fourth ordinary summit of the Great Green Wall initiative.

The initiative’s twelve member countries participate in this summit, in addition to France as a guest of the summit, the Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations, and representatives of 18 regional and international organizations.

The summit follows last month’s climate summit in Glasgow, Scotland, during which donors pledged $14 billion in funding for the Great Green Wall project over the next five years.
