Excellency Mr. Maa El Ainain Ould Ayih, Minister of Vocational Training, Traditional Industry, and Crafts of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, United States, received in audience Ms. Jan Du Plain, CEO and President of Du Plain Global Enterprises, at the Embassy of Mauritania in Washington, DC.

On May 14, 2025, His Excellency Mr. Maa El Ainain Ould Ayih, Minister of Vocational Training, Traditional Industry, and Crafts of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, accompanied by Her Excellency Ms. Cissé Mint Cheikh Boide, Mauritanian Ambassador to the United States, received in audience Ms. Jan Du Plain, CEO and President of Du Plain Global Enterprises, at the Embassy of Mauritania in Washington, D.C.

Ms. Du Plain leads Du Plain Global Enterprises, a renowned public relations and special events firm representing media, cultural, and diplomatic institutions. With over two decades of experience working closely with the Washington diplomatic corps, she has helped shape major events such as Passport DC, the Around the World Embassy Tour, and Winternational. Through strategic partnerships with Events DC and the Ronald Reagan Building & International Trade Center, she remains a key figure in promoting embassy-driven initiatives. Her Emmy Award-winning work on the Embassy Chef Challenge highlights her deep commitment to public diplomacy and cultural engagement.

The discussion focused on exploring opportunities to promote Mauritanian crafts in the United States and to build partnerships for the organization of international events that would showcase Mauritania’s rich cultural heritage and artisanal traditions.

Members of the Minister’s delegation and diplomats on Mauritanian embassy also participated in the discussions.
