Participation in a reception for Muslim communities in the United States of America

At the invitation of the US State Department, HE Cisse Cheikh BOIDE, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania to the United States of America, has attended a reception organized by the US State Department on the celebration of Eid al-Fitr for the Muslim community in America.

During his speech at the beginning of the ceremony, the US Secretary of State, Mr. Anthony Blinken, welcomed the Islamic diplomatic corps, religious and civil society leaders, friends, and families for their attendance at the ceremony.

He also thanked the members of the Office of International Religious Freedom for organizing this reception and clarified that it is the first to be organized in the Benjamin Franklin Room since the Covid 19 pandemic.

The Secretary of State evoked the role played by Rashad Hussein, the ambassador for religious freedom at the US State Department, noting his recent visit to our country, where he met with the head of the Government and leaders of civil society throughout Africa to discuss joint efforts to protect religious minorities, on the sidelines of the second international conference organized by the African Conference for the Promotion of Peace, in cooperation with the Mauritanian government on February 9, 2022 in Nouakchott.
