Virtual Meeting with the Group of African Ambassadors accredited to Washington DC.

Her Excellency Cisse Cheikh Boide, Ambassador of Islamic Republic of Mauritania attended this Wednesday, January 26, 2022, the monthly meeting through Visio conference of the group of African Ambassadors accredited to Washington DC.

Mrs. Sasha Baker, Principal Director of Strategic Planning at the National Security Council of the United States, was present at the meeting.

The discussions mainly focused on the strategy established by the Baden administration for Africa, security issues, climate change, basic infrastructure, investment opportunities in Africa, but the emphasis was placed on the issue of the fight against terrorism in the Sahel region.

Seizing the opportunity, Her Excellency Cisse Cheikh Boide gave a brief overview of the current situation in the Sahel, recalling the need and urgency for efficient international cooperation to restore peace and stability in this sensitive region of the African continent.
