His Excellency the Minister of Vocational Training, Traditional Industry and Crafts holds a series of meetings in Washington, DC.

His Excellency Mr. Maa El Ainain Ould Ayih, Minister of Vocational Training, Traditional Industry, and Crafts of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, accompanied by Her Excellency Ms. Cissé Mint Cheikh Boide, Ambassador of Mauritania to the United States, held on 13 may 2025 a high-level meeting with Ms. Aquilina Brez, Acting Vice President for Foreign Policy, and Mr. Alex Macdonald, Director for Africa Policy at the Office of Foreign Policy, U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC).
The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration between Mauritania and the DFC, with particular attention to development initiatives in vocational training, traditional industries, and youth employment. The delegation also explored financing opportunities for private sector projects aligned with Mauritania’s national development priorities.
The DFC expressed strong interest in identifying bankable projects in Mauritania that demonstrate significant social impact.
Minister Ould Ayih reaffirmed the Mauritanian government’s commitment to human capital development, and shared updates on key initiatives in infrastructure, the energy sector, and the country’s broader industrial strategy. He underscored the essential role of technical and vocational training in driving economic inclusion and sustainable growth.
Members of the Minister’s delegation also took part in the discussions.
