Participation in a virtual meeting of the International Alliance Working Group

Her Excellency Mrs. Cisse Cheikh BOIDE, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania to the United States of America, participated in a virtual meeting of the working group of the International Alliance.

The meeting was attended by more than 130 participants from about 45 countries and international organizations, members, and observers. The agenda mainly included three regions: Iraq/Syria; Africa; and Afghanistan.

Her Excellency focused her intervention on an effective Mauritanian strategy in the Sahel region to combat terrorism and extremism following a comprehensive approach as she is referring

to the current situation in the region because of desertification and lack of rain and the need for moral commitment to humanitarian assistance.
