Foreign Minister’s meeting with his American counterpart

His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, met with the US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, on the sidelines of the NATO Summit held in Madrid (Spain).

The meeting dealt with advancing and developing bilateral relations between the two countries. Secretary of State Blinken mentioned that Mauritania is making tangible progress in the field of human rights and is a major partner of the United States in the field of regional security. He also highlighted his country’s engagement to support all efforts to help Mauritania in the field of food security, and that cooperation between the two countries is essential.
