Meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs with the Deputy Secretary of State in charge of Political Affairs

On September 21, 2022, H.E. Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad, met, on the sidelines of the seventy-seventh session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, the Deputy Secretary of State of the United States in charge of Political Affairs, Ms. Victoria Nuland. The meeting discussed the development of bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen them to serve the interest of the two peoples.

The meeting took place in the presence of the Mauritanian delegation, represented by Her Excellency the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania to the United  States, Cisse Cheikh BOIDE, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania to the United Nations, Mr. Sidi Ould Mohamed Laghdaf, the Ambassador and Director of Protocol at the Ministry,  Hamada Ely Mahmoud, the Adviser at the Mission, Ahmed Ould El Nach, and the American side, Mr. Michael Heath, Assistant Secretary of State for West Africa and the Sahel.
